Virgilio has a struggling DVD rental business and had a falling out with his best friend Piero in high school. Luisa Cappiello is a very confused single mother who is on the verge of becoming an architect. Lorenzo and Luisa arrange to meet on the tram to find their soul mate. Virgilio returns home to get some things and leaves without explaining himself to his wife; meanwhile, he begins to feel good about Doriana. Professor Russo begins to take care of Simona Fabbri, a difficult student, but must also face her own problems.
