Dave Lojek loves filmmaking. A lot. He belongs to the prolific and most often selected directors of the 21st century with over 2249 invitations to premiere screenings of his distributions at international film festivals worldwide. His favorite genres are comedy, parody, fantasy, romance, poetry, sci-fi and experiment. Dave also directs documentaries, dramas, portraits, and music videos. His works and distributions won 261 film awards. Some people seem to enjoy his movies. Dave Lojek graduated with an MA in English / American and Cultural Studies from Humboldt-University in his hometown Berlin. In terms of content and style, Dave's poetic films encapsulate magic, love, death, friendship, loneliness, artists, oddities, escapism, mythology and the everyday. Based on the Homo-Ludens-principle, Dave clearly focuses his often-cheerful work on the universal and timeless. He calls his motivation intrinsic and gifts his art to cinema audiences. Dave is a proponent of human-made cinematic art and fights against generative AI—and thus against the erosion of the appreciation and perception of all art forms, the withering of the thought process, the regurgitation of the internet at large.
